2001: Rococco teal

The Next Egg

Rococco teal
green (faded)/aquamarine/black 01

Perhaps the contrast is not as sharp on the brown eggs, but I rather like the way the faded green color looks on them. This was also an experiment in using a kistka with a thicker stroke. The wax tends to go on too thick for my tastes. It takes longer to remove and you can't see the saved color underneath. But damn, having the bits of black highlights looks SNAZZY.

At the time, someone at my contract site also did pysanky. She did the old traditional dye whole and poison the food inside thing, and was suitably horrified by both my practice of using emptied eggshells and my unawareness of thicker stroked kistkas.
